Sanjay Trehan has been around for pretty much every phase of digital media in India. The early broadband days, the rise of digital news, programmatic, mobile, AI. He was there. Not as a spectator. He was leading teams at Times Internet, NDTV Convergence, Microsoft India (MSN), and HT Media through all of it.
Now he advises companies across the media and publishing space: EssentiallySports, YuktaMedia, IMAGO, PwC India’s TMT practice, among others.
And now, UndrAds.
Why We Wanted Sanjay on Our Side
We’re an AI-native ad monetization company. We build tools for app developers and publishers. We’re good at the tech part.
But tech alone doesn’t cut it. We also need to understand how publishers think, what they’ve been burned by before, and what they actually need from a monetization partner. That kind of understanding doesn’t come from reading reports. It comes from decades of being in the room.
That’s what Sanjay brings. He’s worked with publishers his entire career. He knows the patterns. What works, what doesn’t, and what’s just noise.
What Changes for UndrAds
Honestly? He’s going to make us uncomfortable. In a good way.
We expect him to poke holes in our roadmap, question our assumptions, and push us to think beyond just the product. That’s the whole point. We don’t need someone to tell us we’re doing great. We need someone who’s seen enough to tell us where we’re wrong.
What’s Next
More product updates. Sharper strategy. A much better understanding of what publishers actually want from an AI-powered monetization stack.
The fellowship is assembled. Time to move.
